07 Aug Isaiah 57:19 And Bankruptcy.
When you are considering filing bankruptcy why not consider Isaiah 57:19. Isaiah 57:19 generally states “I create the fruit of the lips…”. If you hang around any attorneys you will hear “words have meaning.” So whether you consider what the Bible proclaims or attorneys proclaim the bottom line is that words have power to create or destroy.
Financial difficulties are one of the top ten stressors in one’s life. At this difficult time in your life the words you speak over the situation are going to be the key to your success. For example if you look at bankruptcy as the time in your life that you have failed, lost everything and the end of the world, don’t those words feel heavy to you? Speaking these words adds credibility to the feeling of failure. So in your current perspective you do in deed consider yourself a failure even though no one else in the world may think that.
What if you were to change those words from you have failed to you have stumbled but you are strong and ready to bounce back? You can be like Thomas Edsion where he said “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” Mr. Edison also said: “Be courageous. I have seen many depressions in business. Always America has emerged from these stronger and more prosperous. Be brave as your fathers before you. Have faith! Go forward!” It was this tenacity that kept Edison going despite the naysayers and financial difficulties that his experiments placed him in.
Now if instead thinking that you have lost everything say to yourself “I have been given an opportunity to clear some of the clutter from my life.” Also view bankruptcy or financial difficulties as an opportunity to re-connect with things that are important in your life. Important things such as family, your health, taking time to smell the roses and finding peace within your soul.
One of the most common feelings to those filing bankruptcy is that bankruptcy signals the end of the world. Let’s replace those words with this is a wonderful opportunity to recreate your very being. It is a beautiful opportunity to start over again and learn for the past. How many people are given or take this opportunity?
If your current financial situation was created through your decisions and acts, so what? We all make mistakes. The “winners” are not those who do not fail but rather those who take that alleged failure and turn it into a success. Now you have the opportunity like Edison to say “hey those decisions did not work.” Tell yourself I have learned what does not work and have the opportunity to perfect what does work. You are not the first and you will not be the last to file bankruptcy or struggle with difficult times.
Do you think Dave Ramsey became a multi-millionaire giving up in defeat? No! I am sure that he too had thoughts of failure and giving up but in the end he did not. He took his alleged failure and turned it into a success by changing his perspective. Dave Ramsey Financial Make Over would not have happened if it would not have been for his financial misfortune and the filing of his bankruptcy. Some might even say that he was called to fail so that he teach others to be financially free.
Do you think Mickey Mouse would have been born if Walt Disney gave up in defeat? Probably not. Walt was thrown into a bankruptcy and lost all his assets, strike one. He then created Oswald the Lucky Rabbit after bankruptcy and lost him, strike two. He then created Mickey Mouse and hit a home run.
The point is that if Disney, Edison and Ramsey had allowed the negative thoughts in their head to be constantly spoken they would have never achieved their success. So create, as Isaiah 57:19 says, positive thoughts and experiences for our lives through positive words.
Are you going to let financial struggles strike you out or are you going to use this opportunity to hit your home run?
Remember that knowledge is power and the more knowledge you have to change your perspective about your life the more power you will have to achieve your dreams, goals and aspirations!
