Doug Jacobs was admitted to the California bar in 1978 and has been in the private practice of law ever since. He is a partner in the firm, Jacobs, Anderson, Potter and Chaplin in Chico, California, where he lives with his wife and two children. He confines his practice to consumer bankruptcy law, and business and real estate litigation.
Doug has taught Constitutional law and Debtor-Creditor and Bankruptcy law at Cal Northern School of Law continuously from 1988. He has been the Dean of Students there since 1994.
He writes for and is a member of the Bankruptcy Law Network, a group of experienced and knowledgeable consumer bankruptcy practitioners. Doug also serves a secretary of Bankruptcy Law Network. Additionally, he writes for Money Health Central, a consumer financial blog.
Doug is a member of: the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys (NACBA), the Bankruptcy Law Network, the Sacramento Valley Bankruptcy Forum; and the California and Butte County Bar Associations.
