Michael G. Doan graduated from the University of San Diego with a Bachelor of Accountancy, earning departmental honors, and minoring Philosphy. He received his law degree at California Western School of Law, and has been a licensed attorney since 1995.
He is a Board Certified Specialist in Consumer Bankruptcy Law by the American Board of Certification, one of only eleven such attorneys in all of California. He is also a licensed Mortgage Broker and Realtor by the State of California.
He has filed over 5,000 consumer bankruptcy cases and hundreds of additional lawsuits within those cases. He has been published in both the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Ninth Circuit Bankruptcy Appellate Panel. He is a graduate of Max Gardner’s Bootcamp and Peter Barry’s Bootcamp, two of the most extensive consumer rights bootcamps in the United States.
He was the first attorney in the entire Southern District of California to file the very first Chapter 7 Bankruptcy and very first Chapter 13 Bankruptcy under the new Bankruptcy Laws, which went into effect on October 17, 2005.
Presently, he is devoting his time primarily to defend consumers in foreclosure and creditor abuse cases via Bankruptcy Court, State Court, and Federal Court. Keeping individuals in their homes is his number one priority at present.
Michael and his family reside in North County San Diego. He has been happily married for 14 years and has 3 children. Hobbies include Surfing, extensive travels in Central America, and his kids’ soccer games.
