How do I figure out if the trustee has received my payment? You can go to 13 Data Center and log in to view your case. You will be able to see what payments have been received by the trustee. You can also look at the claims that have been filed in your case.
It is important that you look at and review your case carefully. It is not uncommon for a creditor to file a wrong amount for a claim. Additionally they can file a claim in your case that does not even belong to you. Keep in mind that if you don’t make your payment on time than your case will be dismissed. By tracking your case you can ensure that all payments have been received and credited.
You might be saying to yourself; “Why should I be doing this, shouldn’t my attorney be checking this?” As an attorney I do check the claims and payments on the case but I also send it out to my clients to review the claims. Why? Because I want my clients involved in every step of their case. Also a second set of eyes is always a great way to ensure accuracy.
As I have said previously, in order for you to make a change in your financial life you must be involved with every aspect of your finances in order to regain financial control.
