Gini Nelson focuses her law practice in bankruptcy and bankruptcy avoidance advising and representing individual consumers and small business owners in these challenging economic times. Her practice also includes family law and the implications and impact of bankruptcy in family law.
A practicing attorney since 1983, she received her law degree from George Washington University in Washington, DC. and clerked first for the Honorable A. Franklin Burgess, Jr. and then for the Honorable Carlisle E. Pratt (deceased), both of the District of Columbia Superior Court before moving to Santa Fe, New Mexico.
In New Mexico, she served as Special Assistant Attorney General and Assistant General Counsel to the New Mexico Environment Department representing the agency primarily in hazardous and mixed hazardous and radioactive waste issues before entering private practice in 1993.
She currently sits on the State Bar of New Mexicoâ€™s Law Practice Management Committee and the 1st Judicial District Court of New Mexicoâ€™s Access to Justice Committee.
An early adopter of social media tools, she started her first blog Engaging Conflicts in 2006 and her other, primary blogs, Handling Conflict and NM Bankruptcy Law in 2007.
