Cathy is a bankruptcy specialist*, representing consumers and small businesses in the bankruptcy courts around the San Francisco Bay.  She has headed her own small firm for nearly 30 years, after graduating from Stanford University and Hastings College of Law.

Family law and tax issues as they play out in bankruptcy are areas of particular interest. She also enjoys any bankruptcy case involving small business issues and entrepreneurs.

Cathy is a long time member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and a frequent speaker to other lawyers on bankruptcy topics.  She’s now training new bankruptcy practitioners at Bankruptcy Mastery.

Cathy counts her website Bankruptcy in Brief as perhaps her proudest accomplishment:  some 170 pages of  consumer friendly material on bankruptcy law and procedure.  She’s a senior editor at the new personal finance site Consumer Ledger and  serves as a founding member of Bankruptcy Law Network.

If she had any spare time, she’d spend it in the garden growing vegetables or in the kitchen fixing them.  She relishes being an empty-nester with her husband Steve and admiring her young sons from afar.
