The One Thing I really Want Bankruptcy Clients To Do Is . . .
By Rachel Lynn Foley - Kansas City, MO Bankruptcy on Mar 16, 2008 in General Bankruptcy Information
The one thing I really want bankruptcy clients to do is be realistic about their budget. Very rarely are clients realistic about their budget and what is a normal budget.
In my practice the clients think they can continue to hit McDonald’s every morning and that they should be able to go for drinks or the movies every weekend. This just is not possible when you are filing bankruptcy to get a fresh start. You have to learn to budget and be realistic about things.
You must PLAN for real and personal property tax, medical expenses, other necessities! If you truly are not realistic about your budget and are unwilling to change your spending habits, then bankruptcy will only be a temporary fix for you.
A qualified bankruptcy attorney can help you with determining a local budget so that you may live within your means without credit card debt. However, YOU must be willing to take the first step towards regaining financial control.
Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
