The American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI) hails itself as “the largest multi-disciplinary, non-partisan organization dedicated to research and education on matters related to insolvency.” ABI was founded in 1982 “to provide Congress and the public with unbiased analysis of bankruptcy issues”. ABI’s over 11,500 members span the entire spectrum of professionals and include attorneys, accountants, auctioneers, judges, lenders, academics, turnaround specialists, credit professionals and many others.
ABI provides its members with updates on legislative developments and other bankruptcy news. They publish the ABI Update, an electronic news bulletin, the monthly ABI Journal, a semi-annual ABI Law Review, an annual ABI Membership Directory, and many other publications.
ABI’s website, ABIWorld offers daily headlines with news on corporate bankruptcies, reorganizations, financing agreements and other insolvency-related news.
