New Bankruptcy Trustee for Kansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico

Dick Wieland of Wichita was named acting U.S. Trustee for Kansas, Oklahoma and New Mexico effective September 1, 2007. He replaces Felicia Turner who resigned to work for a private non-profit organization.
Wieland has been a U.S. Trustee program trial attorney since 1988. He is a special assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Kansas. Recently, he assisted the Executive Office of the U.S. Trustee approving credit counseling and debtor education programs.
He has a law degree from the University of Tulsa and a masters in business administration from Western Illinois University.
Wieland is acting U.S. Trustee for Region 20, headquartered in Wichita with offices in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Albuquerque.
The U.S. Trustee program is a component of the Justice Department charged with bankruptcy case administration. There are 21 regions and 95 field offices in the U.S. Trustee program.
