What Is The Government Doing To Combat Mortgage Abuse?

Kerri Panchuk posts on the DSNews.com Default Servicing website, the Mortgage Bankers Association and the FBI are teaming up to fight Mortgage Fraud. In an article titled, MBA and FBI Agree to Combat Mortgage Fraud, Kerri writes “During the MBA’s National Fraud Conference, representatives with both agencies will be signing a memorandum of agreement that recognizes their approval of the “Mortgage Fraud Warning Notice.” The new notice will be made available to lenders, so they can voluntarily use the declaration to educate consumers and mortgage lenders about the penalties and consequences associated with mortgage fraud.”
That leads me to wonder, ala Bruce Willis in Die Harder, when an Army Special Forces Unit arrives to take down Colonel Stuart and his airport terrorists, character John McClane asks, “Did things just get better or worse?”
